Your voice matters – use it in the European elections!

In June 2024, a total of 720 Members of the European Parliament or MEPs will be elected to the European Parliament. Fifteen MEPs will be elected in Finland. By voting in the elections, you can have a say on who will represent Finland in the European Parliament for the next five years.

The Finnish candidates stand for election in the entire country, so you may vote for any of the candidates.

The European elections will be held simultaneously in all EU Member States.

The European Parliament is a parliamentary representative body of the European Union that enacts legislation and adopts the EU budget together with the Council of the European Union. Furthermore, the European Parliament oversees the work of the Commission and EU agencies.

You are eligible to vote in the European elections in Finland if you are:

  • at least 18 years old on election day
  • a Finnish or an EU citizen with a legal residence in Finland, or a Finnish citizen residing abroad.
