RENAULT ALL-ELECTRIC SUPERMINIS MAKE A BIG IMPACT AT THE WHAT CAR?...

  • Hotly anticipated Renault 5 prototype wins 'Reader's Choice' at the What Car? EV Awards
  • Pioneering Renault Zoe E-Tech 100% Electric voted 'Best Used Electric Small Car' for the third consecutive year

All-electric Renault superminis from today and tomorrow have won at the What Car? EV Awards 2023, with the long-established Renault Zoe E-Tech 100% Electric winning 'Best Used Electric Small Car' and the forthcoming Renault 5 winning 'Readers' Choice'.

On declaring the Zoe E-Tech 100% Electric their 'Best Used Electric Small Car' for the third consecutive year, What Car? judges, said: "For sheer value, the Renault Zoe is in a class of its own. It's an electric pioneer that has stood the test of time, although we think the post-2020 R135 model is a particularly good buy, thanks to its bigger battery and impressive real-world range."

With the production version due for launch in 2024, the Renault 5 prototype was recognised as one of the most eagerly-anticipated EVs after winning the 'Readers' Choice' award.

What Car? judges, added: "Against a backdrop of rising costs and the planned 2030 ban on new petrol car sales, the reborn Renault 5 looks like it could be the answer to many motorists' prayers. It certainly resonates with What Car? readers, because in an online poll they voted it the upcoming electric car that they're most excited about seeing in showrooms."

Guillaume Sicard, Country Head UK & Managing Director Renault Brand UK, added: "With both our most established electric supermini and future EV star winning awards, it is a perfect illustration of the length and success of our electric vehicle journey. Whether car buyers are purchasing new or used, these awards prove that they can look forward to a fantastic ownership experience of a fully-electric Renault supermini."
