Premier's Message - Hurricane Warning

Hello everyone,

As you are likely aware, Grand Cayman is now under Hurricane Warning and the Sister Islands have now been placed under Tropical Storm Watch.

At times like this, I am proud to see our community coming together in making preparations, calmly and pragmatically, for a storm. Like you, I have been out today ensuring buildings are made secure, and emergency plans are in place swiftly across our islands. The government is working with all 19 MPs to ensure the most vulnerable in every district have the plywood, supplies and sandbags they need to safely weather the storm.

As you complete your own preparations, please take a moment to check in with friends and neighbours who may be in need of a helping hand or a word of reassurance in what can be stressful times.

While the path and strength of Tropical Storm Ian remains unpredictable, it is important we prepare for the worst while we continue to hope for the best.
