At the cordial invitation of the Right Honorable Mr. Ramchandra Paudel, President of Nepal, His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani, Amir of the State of Qatar, arrived in Kathmandu this afternoon on a two-day State Visit to Nepal. Upon arrival, the Amir of the State of Qatar was received at the VVIP bay of the Tribhuvan International Airport by the President of Nepal. The Right Honourable Vice-President Mr. Ramsahay Prasad Yadav, the Right Honourable Prime Minister Mr. Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda', the Right Honourable Speaker of the House of Representatives Mr. Devraj Ghimire, the Right Honourable Chairperson of the National Assembly Mr. Narayan Prasad Dahal, Honourable Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs Mr. Narayan Kaji Shrestha, and other high-ranking government officials were present on the occasion.

Later in the afternoon, the Right Honourable President Mr. Ramchandra Paudel and His Highness Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani held a meeting at the Office of the President, Shital Niwas. Various matters of Nepal-Qatar bilateral relations and cooperation were discussed on the occasion. Both leaders expressed happiness over the cordial relations subsisting between the two countries and agreed to further enhancing bilateral relations and cooperation for the mutual benefit of the two countries and peoples.

In the evening, the Right Honourable President of Nepal hosted a State Banquet in honour of His Highness the Amir.

His Highness the Amir of the State of Qatar will hold bilateral talks with the Right Honourable Prime Minister Mr. Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' tomorrow.
