Antti Lindtman to step down from his position as chair of the city council

​​​​​​​Antti Lindtman, chair of the city council, announced today, on September 18, that he will step down from his position as the chair of the city council. He will continue in his position until the new chair has been chosen. Lindtman was chosen as the chair of the Social Democratic Party on September 1.

In addition, the city council meeting ratified the Helsingin Kirkonkylä (Helsinge Vicarage) and Nikinmäki alterations to local detailed plans.

The plan-alteration area of Helsingin pitäjän kirkonkylä is situated in a nationally significant built cultural environment. The plan alteration entails the city-owned Knappas real property as well as parts of Kirkkotie and Kyläraitti street areas. The local detailed plan is revised in such a way that the protected Knappas main building will retain its position along Suuri Rantatie, and the city block will remain an area of small houses. The unused building lot near the crossroads of Kirkkotie and Kyläraitti will be removed. The plan designates building volumes for the current sauna building and for the new utility building. The border of the street area will be specified, and the valuable trees in the area will be protected.

The alteration to the local detailed plan for Nikinmäki junction region makes it possible to devise the first local detailed plan for the real property at the end of Siikatie, at the border of Sipoo. The real property was annexed from the Municipality of Sipoo to the City of Vantaa on January 1, 2018, by Government decision and with the City of Vantaa's consent. Part of the area will be designated as light-traffic street area, while the rest of the real property will be annexed as part of the existing city block for small houses. The plan can be implemented, for example, as four one-apartment small houses.
