Flash flooding closes several mid-Missouri roadways

Any time there is water over the roadway, there may be unseen damage to the road surface below. Do not drive through water over a roadway or around construction barricades. MoDOT encourages all motorists to Turn Around! Don't Drown! It only takes six inches of water (or less!) to lose control of your vehicle and possibly be swept into rising floodwaters. Current closures (9 a.m., April 29):

Boone County

  • Route CC - CLOSED at Long Branch Creek west of Centralia.
  • Route E - CLOSED at Perche and Rock Fork Creeks north of the city limits of Columbia.
  • Route ZZ - CLOSED from I-70 Drive to Worley Street due to overflow from Perche Creek.

Camden County

  • Route H - CLOSED from Route 7 west of Richland to Route BB (Laclede County).

Cooper County

  • Route Z - south of I-70 at Heaths Creek.

Dent County

  • Route TT - CLOSED at Crooked Creek east of Route 19 near Sligo.
  • Spur EE - CLOSED from County Road 5200 to Route EE due to flooding from the Meramec River.

Howard County

  • Route 124 - CLOSED from Route A to Route Y west of Harrisburg.
  • Route H - CLOSED from County Road 201 to County Road 222 northeast of Fayette.
  • Route W - CLOSED from Route EE to County Road 418 due to flooding from Moniteau Creek.
  • Route Z - CLOSED from Route 87 to County Road 340 west of New Franklin.

Laclede County

  • Route H - CLOSED from Route BB to Route 7 west of Richland (Camden County).
  • Route J - CLOSED from Palm Drive to Omaha Drive west of Route 5, east of Morgan.
  • Route Z - CLOSED from Route O to Jerk Tail Drive (Wright County).

Morgan County

  • Route BB - CLOSED from Buffalo Road to Route 135 due to flooding at Gabriel Creek southeast of Florence.
