Rousay Pier car park drainage improvement works to get underway

Works aredueto start next week (Monday 25 March)at Rousay Pier to improve drainage at the car park.

The aim is to prevent surface water flooding which occurs due to runoff from the ditch adjacent tothe former Pier Restaurant during periods of heavy rainfall.

The workswillinvolve the construction of a new surface water culvert including inlet chamber and outfall within the car park.

To allow the contractors to undertake the improvements, we are asking owners to remove their vehicles, small boats etcfrom the pier car park atthe east of the ferry marshalling area by Sunday 24 March.

This car park will be closed for the estimated six-week duration of the project.
