A third more passengers at the annual level
Passenger traffic on the three Slovenian international airports (Ljubljana Jože Pučnik Airport, Maribor Edvard Rusjan Airport, Portorož Airport) increased by a third compared to 2022. In total, 1.3 million passengers travelled through these airports, the vast majority through Ljubljana Airport.
Significant increase in passenger traffic at Ljubljana Airport, slight decrease in goods traffic
Last year, almost 1.3 million passengers travelled through Ljubljana Jože Pučnik Airport, which was a third more than a year earlier.
88% of all passengers were carried by scheduled flights. The largest passenger traffic with scheduled flights was recorded to or from Turkey (16%), followed by Germany (15%) and the United Kingdom (14%), which had been the top two destinations a year earlier.
The largest increase was recorded to or from Switzerland (72% more) and the smallest to or from France (5% more).
42% of passengers on scheduled flights travelled between Ljubljana Airport and other airports within the EU, and 58% between Ljubljana Airport and airports outside the EU.
The largest passenger traffic with unscheduled flights was recorded to or from Greece (31%) and Egypt (28%).
The largest increase was recorded to or from Spain (by three times), while unscheduled passenger traffic to or from Greece fell by 8% compared to the previous year.
46% of passengers on unscheduled flights travelled between Ljubljana Airport and other airports within the EU, and 54% between Ljubljana Airport and airports outside the EU.
Compared to 2022, goods traffic decreased by 8% to 11,438 tonnes, with only 1% of goods transported with unscheduled flights.
