Champlain male arrested stemming from a domestic dispute

On May 6, 2024, State Police members arrested Alexander L. Hebert, age 21, of Champlain, NY for assault 2nd, menacing 2nd, and criminal possession of a weapon 4th.

On May 6, 2024, at approximately 10:48 a.m. Troopers responded to Locust Street in the village of Champlain for a physical domestic dispute. An investigation determined Hebert was having a verbal argument and later turned physical when Herbert became irate with the situation. Hebert struck the victim with a closed fist, striking the victim in the back of the head. Hebert went into the kitchen area, grabbed a knife, made threatening remarks, and made a motion to use the knife toward the victim. The victim was not struck, and Hebert left the residence before law enforcement's arrival.

Hebert was located, arrested, and transported to SP Champlain for processing. He was arraigned in the Town of Champlain Court, where he was remanded to Clinton County Jail in lieu of $1,000 cash or $2,000 bond.
