Progress update on the Freshwater Lake Construction Project

The Freshwater Lake Pipe Construction Project has been a key initiative aimed at improving the health and sustainability of our beloved Freshwater Lake at West Lakes. This project represents a major investment in our community's infrastructure and environmental sustainability and we're nearing completion.

Since the project began in November 2023 we've successfully installed and pressure tested a new pipeline designed to enhance water quality by integrating Freshwater Lake with the existing wetland systems at Corcoran Reserve and West Lakes Golf Course.

Pump pits, crucial for the movement of water, are now in place and the water has started to move to Corcoran Reserve ponds (you may have seen the water), which has been a significant step.

With the final touches being put in place, over the next few weeks, we'll be testing and programming the pump station to operate automatically, marking the next important phase of our project.

By the end of April 2024, we anticipate water will be efficiently circulating from Freshwater Lake through our new, improved system, significantly enhancing water quality and lake management.

Landscaping within the Corcoran Ponds and infrastructure improvements at the bore site that supplies the lake with water will be delayed until later in the year when the weather is cooler.

Thank you for your continued support and patience as we work towards a healthier, more vibrant Freshwater Lake.
