City Council To Recognize State Champion Volleyball Team
Citizen Of The Month To Also Be Recognized
The Las Vegas City Council will recognize the state champion Bishop Gorman High School girls volleyball team at the May 1, 2024, City Council meeting that will begin at 9 a.m. in Council Chambers on the second floor of City Hall, located at 495 S. Main St.
In November, the Bishop Gorman girls captured the Class 5A state volleyball championship over Coronado High School behind outside hitter Ayanna Watson's 32 kills and 14 digs.
In addition, the City Council will recognize the May Citizen of the Month, The 18b Las Vegas Arts District Association President Becky Miller. The association is a nonprofit organization working to build a stronger Las Vegas community through advocacy, events and support for local artists and businesses. Miller has been a tireless champion for the growing Arts District, an area that has evolved into one of Southern Nevada's most popular locations for residents and tourists. It features unique restaurants, bars (including Brewery Row), stores and of course art.
The meeting will be broadcast live on cable channel 2, and at www.kclv.tv/live.
Public comment will be available for items on the agenda until 5 p.m. April 30 at www.lasvegasnevada.gov/councilcomment. Those wishing to comment on items on the council agenda are invited to do so online, or to attend the meeting in person and participate in the public comment periods.
