SSO Summary Raper Creek Pump Station 03142023

Paulding County staff was doing a routine station check at Raper Creek Pump Station and witnessed the manhole beside the pump station was beginning to seep and pump trucks were called to mobilize to the site. The overflow was observed at 2:55 p.m. on 3/14/23 and the pump trucks arrived and began pumping at 3:23 p.m. on 3/14/23 immediately stopping the flow. The pump station was found to be without power. Greystone Power arrived on site just after the pump trucks and began tracing the wires from the electrical panel back thru the woods and were able to restore power to the station. Until the pump trucks arrived approximately 224 gallons of untreated wastewater spilled onto the ground and into Raper Creek. Lime has been applied at the site and signs have been placed at the creek.
