At approximately 6:45 p.m. on Friday, March 29, The Fargo Police Department (FPD) were called to a local healthcare facility following a report of a sexual assault. The victim identified the suspect as Travis Holt, who lived in the same apartment complex as the victim (located in the 2600 block of 8th St. N.). When FPD officers attempted to speak with Holt, he refused to exit his apartment.

Due to the criminal history of the suspect, the Red River Valley SWAT Team was utilized to assist with taking Holt into custody. The SWAT Team utilized several Flash Sound Diversionary Devices (FSDD) to create a loud bang and bright flash of light. The FSDD is used to distract suspects, allowing officers to perform tasks that may put them in danger.

The suspect continued to resist arrest, and the Red River Valley SWAT Team used additional tactics, including deploying gas and less lethal ammunition, to apprehend Holt.

Through collaborated efforts, Holt was arrested at 6:51 a.m. on Saturday, March 30, and transported to a local healthcare facility for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. Holt, a 39-year-old Fargo resident, was charged with Aggravated Assault, Felony Trespassing, Forced Gross Sexual Imposition and Kidnapping and was transferred to Cass County Jail.
