Zombies and Parasites, Oh My!

Urban fantasy author Seanan McGuire writes horror novels under the name Mira Grant. Books in her series, Newsflesh, have been nominated for Hugo Awards, as have some of her other works. Grant has a love of horror movies and has made a lifelong study of horrible viruses, which she fulfills by auditing college virology courses and reading books about horrifying diseases, when she is not writing, traveling, or watching horror movies.
