Two Awards for JKU Dissertation

Simone Stütz received two awards in recognition of her outstanding dissertation.

Written under the academic supervision of the JKU's Institute of Business and Vocational Education, Dr. Simone Stütz' dissertation titled "Charakteristika von Aufgaben in der Domäne Rechnungswesen. Eine fachdidaktische Analyse" was not only presented with the 2024 Austrian Vocational Education Research Award, but will also receive the Käthe and Ulrich Pleiß Foundation Award in Dresden in September.

As part of her dissertation, Dr. Stütz analyzed the didactic and educational quality of 2,000 textbook exercises in accounting at secondary commercial schools, revealing that these exercises are geared more towards working routines than understanding the subject matter.
