Entities that are not registered as virtual asset services providers nor authorised to accept deposits or other repayable funds: 'BTC Evex 360' / 'BTC ifex 360' / 'Bitcoin 360 ai'

Banco de Portugal warns that the alleged entities "BTC Evex 360" / "BTC ifex 360" / "Bitcoin 360 ai", operating through several websites, namely, https://bitcoin360-ai.co/pt/ , https://bitcoin360ai.com/pt/, https://bitcoin360-ai.io/, are not authorised, on this date, and never were, to carry out in Portugal any financial activity subject to the supervision of Banco de Portugal, such as activities with virtual assets as well as the activity of accepting deposits or other repayable funds.

Moreover, activities with virtual assets envisaged in Article 2 (1) (mm) of the Law No 83/2017 of 18 August 2017, when carried out on behalf of the clients and by a person or entity operating in national territory, in accordance with the criteria set out in paragraph 6 of article 4 of the Law no 83/2017, may only be carried out by duly registered entities, pursuant to article 112-A (1) of the mentioned Decree-Law. Also, the activity of accepting deposits and other repayable funds, as set forth in Article 4 (1) (a) of the Legal Framework of Credit Institutions and Financial Companies (approved by Decree-Law No 298/92 of 31 December 1992), may only be carried out by entities authorised for the purpose in accordance with the provisions laid down in Articles 10 of the above-mentioned Legal Framework. The list of authorised entities is available for consultation on Banco de Portugal.

Furthermore, Banco de Portugal warns that there are false profile/posts on social network, using public figures and/or the name of Banco de Portugal, falsely associating them with virtual assets trading platforms.
