Dance the Night Away During Baila Las Cruces

Free Dance Lessons by Sol Ballroom at Plaza de Las Cruces

Baila Las Cruces is ready to kick off its first evening event from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Thursday, April 25, 2024, with free dance lessons and an opportunity to show off your new moves at Plaza de Las Cruces, 100 N. Main St.

This monthly event, presented by Visit Las Cruces, will provide visitors and residents the opportunity to learn regional and culturally inspired dances with free lessons from Sol Ballroom.

The Baila Las Cruces event is free of charge. Everyone is welcome. No experience or partner needed.

"Music is a huge part of the local culture. Baila Las Cruces invites visitors to learn about and enjoy regionally inspired dance styles like salsa, cumbia and many other genres popular with our community," said Visit Las Cruces Executive Director Rochelle Miller-Hernandez. "There are so many venues throughout the city that showcase Latin music, so why not learn a few new dance moves to start the weekend off right!"

Sol Ballroom will lead the night with lessons from highly skilled instructors trained in all styles of dance. No matter the size of the group, their team will ensure everyone has a great time learning new dance techniques.

There will be more than a dozen Thursday evening events between April and November. Exact dates and times can be found on the Visit Las Cruces calendar of events.

Lessons are free of charge. There will be food available for purchase at the Plaza from food trucks and several of the nearby downtown restaurants and breweries. Come out and enjoy the music in downtown Las Cruces.
