Answer these trivia questions by noon today for a chance to see this sequel on the big screen

February 29, 2024

Want to be transported to the inhospitable desert planet Arrakis-for free? BU Today is celebrating the release of the new sci-fi blockbuster Dune: Part Two with a trivia quiz. The prize: two tickets to see the movie tonight at 7:30 pm at AMC Boston Common 19. Each person who answers all the questions correctly on the form below by noon today will be entered in a drawing for the tickets; BU Today will announce the winner today by 1 pm.

Despite premiering during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2021, Dune: Part One went on to earn a hefty $400 million at the box office and 10 Oscar nominations. Now its sequel is here and expected to do even better-"Bigger and more far out" are the words the New York Times used in its review.

Both films are based on a science-fiction novel of the same name and are directed by Denis Villeneuve. (There was a 1980s adaption directed by David Lynch that is considered one of Hollywood's biggest flops. Fortunately, that isn't an issue with the latest installments.)

Dune: Part Two welcomes newcomers Austin Butler, Florence Pugh, and Christopher Walken. Returning as protagonist Paul Atreides is Part One star Timothée Chalamet. In addition, the iconic composer Hans Zimmer returns to the series with a prominent female choir, strings, and wind instruments to transport us back to Arrakis.

To enter, answer the questions in the form below by noon today, Friday, March 1. Be sure to include your phone number, email address, and BU affiliation. The winner will be notified by email or phone, so keep it nearby.
