WVU Medicine St. Joseph’s Hospital celebrates Physical Therapy Month

Posted on 10/3/2022

BUCKHANNON, W.VA. - WVU Medicine St. Joseph's Hospital is recognizing its physical therapy staff during National Physical Therapy Month, observed annually in the month of October.

This year's theme is "Choose to Move," which emphasizes physical therapists' expertise in movement as well as highlighting the benefits of regular physical activity.

Physical therapists and physical therapy assistants provide care for people of all ages and abilities to improve their quality of life, improve mobility, manage pain and chronic conditions, recover from injury, and/or prevent future injury.

Physical therapists empower people to actively participate in their own treatment and work collaboratively with each other and with other health professionals to ensure patients receive the best care.
