Public Health hearing on regulations scheduled for Oct. 26

On Wednesday, Oct. 26, the Arapahoe County Board of Health will take public comment on proposed regulations for body art facilities and onsite wastewater treatment (septic) systems. Public comment will also be open for proposed fees to be charged by Arapahoe County Public Health.

Public comment for body art and fees was originally scheduled for Oct. 12 but was moved to allow more time to notify affected businesses.

Proposed regulations for body artand onsite wastewater treatment systemsare substantively identical to the regulations currently in place with the Tri-County Health Department and will not result in any operational changes for businesses. Rather, proposed changes remove references to Tri-County Health Department and/or Adams and Douglas counties and update statutory references.

Proposed fees are also similar to those used by Tri-County Health Department. Differences include the elimination of unused or inapplicable fees, such as those for photocopies and GIS mapping.

Following public comment on the proposed regulations and fees, the Board of Health may vote to approve both as published or make changes. Regulations and fees must be in place by Jan. 1, 2023, when Arapahoe County Public Health begins serving Arapahoe County residents.
