HRM: All LincPass cards beginning with numbers 4820 must be replaced

Over 5,000 Forest Service LincPass credentials must be replaced by June 2024 despite the expiration dates printed on the cards. All cards with numbers that begin with 4820 were produced with cardstock that is now outdated. Beginning in June of 2024, agency card readers will no longer be able to read the outdated cardstock material. This will result in employees no longer being able to use LincPass cards that begin with 4820 to access facilities, computers, and systems.

What You Need to Do

  1. Review the back of your LincPass and find the 20-digit card number located in the lower-left corner on the back of the card. If your number begins with 4820, be aware that sometime this calendar year you will receive an email with instructions on how to replace your card. The instructions will include how you can schedule an appointment to pick up and activate your new card.
  2. Follow these instructions. All cards with numbers that begin with 4820 will no longer function beginning June 2024.
