Briefing on the UN Conference on the Midterm Comprehensive Review of the Implementation of the Objectives of the International Decade for Action 'Water for Sustainable[...]

On November 24, 2022, the Embassies of the Republic of Tajikistan, the Kingdom of the Netherlands and the Office of the Permanent Coordinator of the UN in Ankara held a briefing on the UN Conference on the Midterm Comprehensive Review of the Implementation of the Objectives of the International Decade for Action "Water for Sustainable Development, 2018-2028".

In his speech, the Ambassador of Tajikistan provided a brief information about the UN Water Conference 2023, which will be held in New York on March 22-24, 2023, and introduced the participants the international initiatives of the Founder of Peace and National Unity - Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon in the water sector, in particular with the International Decade for Action "Water for Sustainable Development 2018-2028". It was noted that, along with this initiative, another proposal of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan is also in the process of implementation to create an International Fund for the Protection of Glaciers and declare 2025 the "International Year of Glacier Protection".

At the same time, officials of the Ministries of Foreign Affairs and other relevant authorities of Tajikistan and the Netherlands delivered presentations on the content of the International Decade of Action "Water for Sustainable Development, 2018-2028", the process of preparation for the conference, program, concept, as well as other aspects of it.
