Kick off Smart Summer with a family carnival celebrating the first day of SMART Summer with Mayor Johnson, the annual Dallas Public Library reading and learning program. Brief remarks from city leaders at 10 a.m. will be followed by games and activities for neighborhood families. Dallas ISD staff will be giving away books as part of their Read for Me program.
SMART Summer is a 10-week program that encourages kids to read and learn during the summer months. Science, math, art, reading and technology activities happen all 30 library locations through August 12.
