MFA of Uzbekistan hosted a meeting with the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Sweden

On December 1, 2023, the Special Representative of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan for Afghanistan Ismatulla Irgashev met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Sweden Thomas Danestad.

During the meeting, the parties discussed the prospects for relations between Uzbekistan and Sweden in the Afghan direction.

The Ambassador emphasized the significant role of Uzbekistan in establishing long-term and sustainable peace in Afghanistan, Tashkent's efforts to provide humanitarian assistance to the Afghan people and restore the country's national economy.

The sides also exchanged the views on the current situation in Afghanistan, ways to resolve it peacefully, as well as the implementation of various infrastructure projects in the country.
