SL Army and Jaffna Teaching Hospital collaborate on Free Cataract Surgery Camp

Sri Lanka Army's 56 Infantry Division organized a special surgery program at Jaffna Teaching Hospital recently for patients who were screened during medical camps in remote areas in Mullaitivu District.

Accordingly, Dr. Malaravan, Dr. Thileepan and the staff of the Jaffna Teaching Hospital Eye Unit, in collaboration with Army Base Hospital Palaly, conducted cataract surgeries for 87 patients and additionally, 28 patients from the Jaffna area were also facilitated with the program, the Army sources stated.

General Officer Commanding of 56 Infantry Division Major General S. Kasturimudali, visited the Jaffna Teaching Hospital's eye unit to personally oversee the program.
