Executive Advisor for Academic Affairs Akira Haseyama Attends Presentation Ceremony for the Honorary MBE (Honorary Member of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire) Award

On February 5, the presentation ceremony for the Honorary Member of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (Honorary MBE) was held at the British Ambassador's Residence in the British Embassy in Japan, and was attended by Executive Advisor for Academic Affairs Akira Haseyama.

This decoration was conferred in recognition of the close partnership between the United Kingdom and Japan in the run-up to the Tokyo 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games, and the lasting educational, cultural and business ties between the two countries.

Professor Haseyama served as president of Keio University from May 2017 to May 2021. During his term as president, he coordinated with the local governments of Yokohama and Kawasaki to push forward with the preparations to host the Olympic and Paralympic delegations from the United Kingdom for the Tokyo 2020 Games.

British Ambassador Julia Longbottom presents the award to Professor Haseyama
