Montoursville, PA - Motorists are advised that a two-year roadway improvement project continues next week on Route 414 (Water Street), Route 2005 (Blockhouse Road), and Route 2007 (Williamson Road) in Liberty Borough and Liberty Township, Tioga County.

On Monday, April 29, 2024, Water Street will be closed in both directions between Shaffer Hill Road and just south of Bloss Mountain Road, while the contractor, Glenn O. Hawbaker, begins work on a replacement of an 84-inch culvert, utility relocations, and drainage work.

A detour using Route 15 and Bloss Mountain Road will be in place. Motorists should be alert, expect delays in travel and drive with caution.

Glenn O. Hawbaker is the prime contractor for this two-year $6.2 million roadway improvement project. Work on this project includes drainage work on Route 414 (High Street/Water Street) and Blockhouse Road, roadway reconstruction, retaining wall, sidewalks, curbing, and resurfacing of 1.7 miles of Williamson Road. Work is expected to be complete in November of 2025, weather permitting. Motorists can expect a winter shut down between construction seasons.
