Rep. Lynch Meets with Ukraine President Zelenskyy on Bipartisan CODEL to Ukraine and Poland

Boston, MA - This week, U.S. Representative Stephen F. Lynch (MA-08) returned home from a Bipartisan Congressional Delegation to Ukraine and Poland with U.S. Representatives French Hill (R-AK) and Mike Quigley (D-IL). The Members traveled to Ukraine and Poland to meet with Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and examine the progress of U.S. and NATO military, security, and humanitarian assistance to the Ukrainian people.

"I was honored to meet with President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and directly express to him our support for the people of Ukraine as they continue to fight for their freedom and democracy," said Rep. Lynch. "We had an in-depth discussion about Ukraine's key defense needs and how America can provide necessary defense and security aid as Congress considers President Biden's emergency request for additional funding to help Ukraine defeat the unlawful invasion by Russia under its President Vladimir Putin."

Lynch, Hill, and Quigley met with members of the U.S. Army 10th Mountain Division, including several Massachusetts soldiers, who are currently deployed in Eastern Europe to supply military and humanitarian aid to strengthen NATO's eastern flank and deter further Russian aggression. During that meeting, Rep. Lynch met with servicemen and servicewomen from Massachusetts currently stationed in Poland. The Members also conducted a site visit at the Przemysl Train Station, the first stop for many Ukrainian families seeking refuge from the war.<_u13a_p>

President Zelenskyy described their latest frontline developments and Ukraine's current defense needs. This critical meeting comes amidst President Biden's request for Congress to pass supplement funding to aid Ukraine in its battle against President Putin's brutal occupation.
