Recovery Plan: Removing Hazardous Neighborhood Trees

The Dayton Recovery Plan is supporting removal of dozens of hazardous trees and tree stumps in four Dayton neighborhoods -- Carillon, Edgemont, Miami Chapel, and Wolf Creek -- following City Commission approval of a contract with Risner's Tree Service. The hazards result from dead trees, damaged trees, and tree stumps remaining from earlier removals, some decades old. The trees and stumps are located mainly in right-of-way areas and can be hazardous to residents, pedestrians, drivers, and cyclists. Their removal will support safety, neighborhood livability and help prepare the areas for further investment and revitalization.

The Dayton Recovery Plan is the City of Dayton's framework for transformative investment of $138 million of federal American Rescue Plan Act funds.
