Minister of Energy spoke at the conference on “Heydar Aliyev and independent state building in Azerbaijan: history and modernity of socio-economic transition”

Minister of Energy Parviz Shahbazov made a speech at the conference on "Heydar Aliyev and independent state building in Azerbaijan: history and modernity of socio-economic transition" organized by the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

The Minister spoke about the achievements of the Great Leader in the Soviet period and the years of independence in the electric power industry and oil industry, which contributed to the future of our country. He noted that restoration of Azerbaijan's reputation as one of the world's major oil centers, development of this sphere, modernization of petrochemical industry were among the main priorities at all stages of Heydar Aliyev's Energy course.

It was emphasized that each of the projects laid down by Heydar Aliyev are important sources of energy security and economic success of our country and our partners. The Minister said that during this period, 89 billion USD of foreign investment was made in the oil and gas sector. 615 million tons of oil, 42 million tons of condensate, 399 bcm meters of gas were extracted from Azeri-Chirag-Gunashli and Shah Deniz, 613 million tons of oil and 135 billion cubic meters of gas were exported. 176 billion USD in revenue was achieved.

The Minister said that the greatness of Heydar Aliyev as the National Leader of the people was also that he did not limit his ideas to his physical life, he saw the continuation of these ideas in the future and made strategic preparations for this.

The successful policy pursued by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev today is a logical continuation of the course of national statehood determined by Heydar Aliyev.
