Over two intensive days in April, the UNITI Mineral Oil Technology Forum (UMTF) was held in Stuttgart. The program included everything from the latest industry trends to research results and practical applications. Nynas was present and also organised its annual Industrial Lubricants Forum.

Given its role as a leading European supplier of specialty oils for the manufacturing of industrial lubricants, it was only natural that Nynas participated in Stuttgart. Our technical experts were on hand to discuss our products, and Dr. Jinxia Li gave a presentation covering various aspects of the future of metalworking fluids.

Additionally, it has become a tradition for Nynas to host a pre-event the day before UMTF officially starts. This year was no exception. It marked the ninth edition of the well-received specialist seminar, the Nynas Industrial Lubricants Forum.

This year's event, which attracted over 120 experts and professionals, addressed a range of key issues under the main theme "Technologies, challenges, and sustainability in the lubricants industry". The program included five presentations by prominent representatives from both the industry and the academic world. This provided attendees with an updated view of the situation in both the national and international lubricants market, highlighted by practical topics as well as current steps taken towards reducing the CO2 footprint.

"There is no doubt that the Nynas ISSF 2024 offered the participants an excellent opportunity to expand their knowledge and partake in the latest developments in the lubricants industry," summarized Thorsten Wolff, Nynas Genaral Manager for Germany & Austria.

"The discussions were characterized by a lively exchange of ideas and best practices, which contributed to an inspiring atmosphere, and hopefully will help strengthen ongoing sustainability efforts."

A big thank you to Christoph Osterloh (Castrol), Isabell Lange (Lanxess), and Dr. Franz Novotny-Farkas, Apu Gosalia, and Dr. Hans-Jürgen Schlindwein for their inspiring presentations. We are already looking forward to the forthcoming 10th NYNAS ISSF on April 7th, 2025, in Stuttgart, where the discussions will certainly continue!
