8th Algerian-Omani Joint Commission opens in Algiers

The works of the eighth session of the Algerian-Omani Joint Commission began Wednesday in Algiers, under the co-chairmanship of the minister of Foreign Affairs and National Community Abroad, Ahmed Attaf, and his Omani counterpart, Badr bin Hamad bin Hamoud al Busaidi.

On Tuesday, experts held preparatory meetings ahead of the eighth session of the Algerian-Omani Joint Commission, co-chaired by Ambassador Noureddine Khendoudi, the director general of Arab Countries Department at the ministry of Foreign Affairs and National Community Abroad , and his Omani counterpart, Sheikh Faysal bin Omar bin Said al Marhoon, the head of Arab Countries Department at Oman's ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The meetings were dedicated to the examination of cooperation and partnership issues in various sectors of common interest, and the definition of new ways to give a fresh impetus to relations between Algeria and Oman, in line with the desire and guidelines of the leaders of the two countries, the president of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, and his brother the Sultan of Oman, Haitham ben Tariq.

The two delegations have drawn up a number of agreements and memorandums of understanding, to be signed Wednesday at the ministerial meeting of the joint commission.
