Nova geração das eCanter 100% elétricas arranca no Tramagal

The Mitsubishi Fuso Truck Europe (MFTE) factory in Tramagal, Abrantes, celebrated on May 22 the start of production of the new eCanter, a fully electric truck now available in a total of 42 variants, with more power, efficiency and autonomy.

The event was attended by the Prime Minister, António Costa, and the Secretary of State for the Economy, Pedro Cilínio.

The executive director of MFTE, Arne Barden, announced that the company has already produced 250,000 units of the FUSO Canter model in Tramagal since 1980: "In total, there were five Canter generations produced on national soil for the European market".

Karl Deppen, CEO of Daimler Truck Asia, highlighted the brand's contribution to increasing sustainable transport: "By 2039, the goal is to offer our main global markets vehicles without CO2 emissions, so I am extremely pleased with the start of production of the our new ecanter here in Tramagal".

The new eCanter will also be produced in Japan, in Kawasaki.
