Cyprus: Demonstration in memory of the martyrs of the Greek-Turkish friendship

Today, April 14, a demonstration was organized by the popular movement of Cyprus, in memory of the two heroic martyrs of the Greek-Turkish friendship, Derviş Ali Kavazoğlu and Kostas Misiaoulis.

WFTU General Secretary, Pambis Kyritsis, and PEO and DEV-IS delegation, headed by the General Secretary, Sotiroulla Charalambous, participated and paid tribute to the demonstration.

Kavazoğlu and Misiaoulis, both cadres of PEO and AKEL, were murdered by the "TMT" fascist organization on April 11, 1965, while struggling for peace in Cyprus and for the reunification of the island and the people, Greek-Cypriots and Turkish-Cypriots.

"Their sacrifice inspires every future generation to continue the struggle on their path."
