We can create conditions and be more active in our efforts to restore good trade and investment relations between Bulgaria and Saudi Arabia. National Assembly Vice-President Rositsa Kirova said at the opening of a round table organized by the Bulgarian-Saudi Chamber of Commerce.

Bulgaria should not underestimate these relations and we need to be more active in restoring our excellent ties, Rositsa Kirova stressed. She expressed hope that a successful start would be made with the "Business Opportunities in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia" round table.

Bulgaria enjoys investor interest among many business representatives from different countries, the Vice-President of the National Assembly said. This is because Bulgaria is a stable country, a member of the EU with normal economic indicators, a well-developed economy and extremely tolerant of ethnic, religious and other differences, Rositsa Kirova said. This gives us a solid basis to be able to talk about business in the way the world has long done with representatives of Arab countries and Middle Eastern countries.

The Chairman of the Bulgarian-Saudi Chamber of Commerce, Dimitar Abadzhiev, noted at the round table that the opening of a Bulgarian embassy in Riyadh in 2018 played an important role in accelerating bilateral cooperation. The profound changes in Saudi Arabia's development in many spheres of life, including the economy, opened up new opportunities for all representatives of Bulgarian business who want to operate in the country, he said. That is why the main task of the Bulgarian-Saudi Chamber of Commerce is to support free initiative and facilitate the construction of an investment bridge between the two countries, Dimitar Abadzhiev added.

Among the areas in which the business of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is interested in cooperation are the non-oil sector, renewable energy, agriculture, industry and technology, Bulgarian representatives in Riyadh said.
