Peoria Responds to Tier 2a Shortage on the Colorado River

Post Date:08/18/2022 7:32 PM
The US Bureau of Reclamation declared a Tier 2a shortage for the Colorado River that will take effect in 2023 with its release of the August 24-month study publication. Due to the seniority of the City of Peoria's water rights, Peoria will experience negligible impacts of 1-2% on its water portfolio. As a result, there is no immediate impact to the City's ability to deliver water to Peoria water customers; and, at this time, there are no mandatory water restrictions. Water conservation is a way of life in Peoria. To learn more about Peoria's water supply, conservation efforts, and rebate programs, visit www.peoriaaz.gov/droughtready.
