Supervisor Miller Recounts Visit to Ivanhoe Electric with Congressman Juan Ciscomani

On Monday, May 13th, I joined Congressman Juan Ciscomani for a tour of Ivanhoe Electric in Casa Grande. Our district and state sit on a tremendous supply of copper, which has incredible value for our state and country. The good people at Ivanhoe Electric, many of whom have been there for a long time, are doing tremendous work extracting and cleaning copper cathodes, which are then shipped out to various places and users. One of the geologists said that from Ajo to Globe-Miami, there is a roughly 20-mile-wide copper deposit that multiple companies, like Ivanhoe, are exploring. Their work will continue to power all things that use electricity and will help sustain and grow our communities.

In District 3 specifically, we are blessed to have many great partners who bring valuable resources that fuel our way of life to market. The life-cycle from exploration and extraction to end-users can be found within our beautiful county. Companies like Ivanhoe (they're hiring!), led by seasoned and passionate folks, are doing meaningful and well-paid work every day to ensure that our vehicles, homes, devices, and way of life remain equipped with the resources they need to function properly. We are blessed to have them in District 3 and are really grateful that Congressman Ciscomani could join us in touring the facility.
