Allegheny Health Network Nurses Honored at Annual Cameos of Caring® Award Gala

PITTSBURGH - Seventeen Allegheny Health Network (AHN) nurses were among those honored at the annual Cameos of Caring® Award Gala recently held at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center.

Hosted by the Pitt School of Nursing, the Cameos of Caring® Award Gala recognizes individuals from health systems and schools of nursing across Western Pennsylvania for excellence in academic achievement and clinical care.

Each facility selects its award recipient(s), who represent a variety of specialty areas including anesthesia, oncology, education, intensive care, pediatrics, emergency medicine, and more.

The 2023 AHN award recipients are:

  • Allegheny General Hospital - Elaina Chisom, Taylor J. Criste, Sidney Gropp, Mary Anne Richert
  • Allegheny Valley Hospital - Mind Nikolaevich
  • Canonsburg Hospital - Bridget Vollmer
  • Citizens School of Nursing - Courtney Klink
  • Forbes Hospital - Sarah Anderson
  • Jefferson Hospital - Amy Gentilcore, Abigail Hebb
  • Saint Vincent Hospital - Jacquelyn D'Amico, Charles Auen
  • West Penn Hospital - Claire Roman Madden, Christopher Fee
  • West Penn School of Nursing - Eric Dietrick
  • Wexford Hospital - Alycia Kerstetter, Justyna Wyman

Cameos of Caring® award recipients demonstrate a commitment to consistent proactive clinical decision-making and excellence in nursing care; serve as advocates for patients and their families; and serve as role models for other health care professionals.

"The Cameos of Caring® Award Gala celebrates the compassion and talent that nurses and educators bring to their profession," said Angela Costa, MPM, BSN, RN, interim Chief Nurse Executive for AHN. "Through this recognition, we honor the nurses who go above and beyond, inspiring a legacy of excellence in nursing education and dedicated patient care."

The Cameos of Caring® program has been honoring area nurses since 1999, recognizing outstanding bedside care and excellence in clinical and academic areas of education and research.
