International Volunteer Day: Motor Oil Group joined forces with the ELPIDA Foundation

Motor Oil, actively supporting the vision of the ELPIDA Association, and in honour of its founder Marianna V. Vardinoyannis, celebrated the International Volunteer Day on 5 December in Athens and Loutraki, along with the valuable help of at least 100 volunteers from all the Group's companies.

A visionary, hopeful message was sent, through the social contribution initiative "FRODIZO". At least 2,000 citizens responded during yesterday's event, while the number of those who became bone marrow donating volunteers, reached 300, making the possibility of saving the life of a patient suffering from leukemia or other serious haematological disease, a reality.

Aiming at finding compatible donors and facilitating the process of collecting transplants for in Greece and internationally, Motor Oil Group dynamically supported the ELPIDA Association at the stands set up in Syntagma Square in Athens and OSE Square in Loutraki, through the social responsibility program FRODIZO.

In a unique atmosphere, surrounded by love, both adults and children had the opportunity to get to know the ELPIDA Foundation, to be informed about the importance of donating blood cells through educational material and to become volunteer donors themselves. Thus, citizens that were interested, went under cheek swab (through their saliva), filled out the association's application form and became officially enrolled in the global and domestic pool of bone marrow donating volunteers.
