The Eskasoni RCMP Detachment has charged a man with drug trafficking offences after a search warrant was executed in Eskasoni.

On March 1, 2024, officers of the Eskasoni RCMP Detachment, with the assistance of the RCMP Northeast Traffic Services and the Victoria County District RCMP executed a search warrant at a home on Mountain Rd.

At the home, police safely arrested one man then located and seized cocaine, Hydromorphone, Oxycodone, Psilocybin and ammunitions.

Ronald Alexander Dennis, 44, from Eskasoni, has been charged with:

• Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking (four counts);
• Careless use of firearm.

Dennis was held in custody and appeared in Sydney Provincial Court. He was subsequently released on conditions and will be back in Sydney Provincial Court on May 7, 2024 at 10:00 a.m.
