Beijing Customs Issues Nearly 10,000 RCEP Certificates of Origin

It is learned from Beijing Customs District P.R. China (hereinafter referred to as "Beijing Customs") that since the implementation of the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) two years ago, Beijing Customs has issued nearly 10,000 RCEP certificates of origin.

In 2023, Beijing Customs issued a total of 5,084 RCEP certificates of origin worth USD 261 million, increasing by 18.12 percent and 6.49 percent year-on-year respectively. It is also learned that the value of the imported goods receiving preferential treatment under RCEP reached USD 83.4034 million with the taxes reduced rose to CNY 13.8917 million, representing year-on-year increases of 113.95 percent and 120.3 percent respectively. The implementation of RCEP-related preferential policies has yielded fruitful results.

To enable enterprises to fully enjoy the benefits, Beijing Customs has launched smart approval and self-service printing services, allowing enterprises to enjoy the convenience of 24/7 declaration, instant approval, and certificate issuance without leaving their premises. By leveraging digital means to relieve enterprises of the needs of long-distance trips for on-site processing, RCEP will continue to bring dividends and benefits to its members and enterprises. In 2024, Beijing Customs will continue to focus on the construction of smart customs, and provide guidance and help for enterprises and consumers to fully benefit from the relevant policies, to promote the high-level opening-up of Beijing.
