The event marks an important milestone in the collaboration between Samsung Vietnam and the Vietnam National Innovation Center (NIC), aiming at realising Vietnam's goal of training 50,000 semiconductor engineers by 2030. Samsung Vietnam will partner with the NIC to launch six high-tech training classes for about 200 students at NIC this year.

Deputy Minister Ngoc highly appreciated the determination and efforts made by Samsung Vietnam in collaborating with the MPI and relevant ministries and agencies to develop innovative and high-tech capabilities for Vietnamese young generation. The partnership between Samsung and NIC is strategically targeted, contributing to the nurture and development future talents in key areas.

As an advisor for the Party, the Government, and the State, the MPI identifies the need for Vietnam to proactively seize the opportunities of the global technology innovation wave to catch up and surpass regional and global levels in certain fields.

General Director of Samsung Vietnam Choi Joo Ho emphasised that Vietnam is increasingly proving its importance in the global supply chain. Vietnam's strengths are shown in political, human resources, infrastructure aspects, and attracting increasing global attention.

He affirmed Samsung's commitment to addressing Vietnam's shortage of information technology talent, stressing the need of unity, continued improvement of the investment environment, enhanced innovation and training of future talents. "On this journey, Samsung will always stand alongside Vietnam," he stated.

In the SIC 2023-2024 programme, Samsung Vietnam, in collaboration with NIC, will organise two training classes in Artificial Intelligence (AI), two classes in Internet of Things (IoT), and two more in Big Data for about 200 students from various universities under the National University of Hanoi and FPT University. The courses are expected to run from May until August 2024 at the "SIC Lab" located at NIC Hoa Lac.

Students who complete the courses and meet the programme requirements will receive a Certificate of Completion of Samsung Innovation Campus Course, as well as the opportunity to participate in other valuable activities of the programme such as the Innovation Tech Challenge - a platform for students to apply knowledge and skills learned in the programme to reality.

In particular, students participating in the SIC programme will also receive free Korean language training course and have opportunities to meet engineers working at Samsung's Research and Development Center, thus gaining career guidance related to the IT field. Outstanding students after participating in the programme will have chance to intern and work at Samsung R&D Center in Vietnam./.
