Paws up! Fort Worth Animal Care & Control is once again teaming up with the BISSELL Pet Foundation to host the Empty the Shelters adoption event May 1-15.

FWACC staff will be available at all four adoption locations to assist families in finding the perfect pet for them.

Bonus perks: Adoption fees are waived, and all animals are vaccinated, microchipped and spayed/neutered to prevent further pet homelessness.

Join us at any of our FWACC adoption locations:

  • Chuck & Brenda Silcox Animal Care & Adoption Center, 4900 Martin St.
  • North Animal Campus, 351 Hillshire Drive.
  • PetSmart Adoption Center Hulen, 4800 S.W. Loop 820 (I-20 at Hulen).
  • PetSmart Adoption Center Alliance, 2901 Texas Sage Trail (I-35W at Heritage Trace).

Why adoption is crucial: Our nation's animal shelters are facing a capacity crisis and need your help now, said Cathy Bissell, founder of BISSELL Pet Foundation. Adoptions have slowed while a surge in owner surrenders due to families facing economic and housing challenges has left tens of thousands of highly adoptable pets desperate to find homes. .… Opening your home to a shelter pet saves a life and creates lifesaving space to help another pet in need.

More than 410 shelters in 43 states are participating in this year's Empty the Shelters event.
