Acadian Festival Mass in Grand Isle

The 44th annual Madawaska Acadian Festival will include the celebration of Mass on Monday, August 15, at 1 p.m. at Mizpah, a retreat center located at 129 Doucette Road in Grand Isle. All are welcome to attend.

The Mass will be celebrated by Fr. Jacques LaPointe, OFM. Fr. LaPointe previously served as an administrator of Notre Dame du Mont Carmel Parish in Madawaska and as pastor of St. Peter Chanel Parish in Van Buren.

The Madawaska Acadian Festival (August 11-15) is a celebration of Acadian heritage, of which Catholicism is an integral part, that allows participants from all over the country and beyond to gather to enjoy authentic cuisine, cultural events, music, artistry, and French-Acadian hospitality. The festival has been held in Madawaska since 1978 to celebrate all that makes the area and Acadian heritage special.
