Chester County Hospital Highest Ranked PA Community Based Hospital Two Years Running

Chester County Hospital ranks #5 in the State, #85 in America on Newsweek's and Statista, Inc.'s World's Best Hospitals listing

West Chester, PA- Chester County Hospital (CCH) has been named to Newsweek's World's Best Hospitals for the second year in a row. The hospital is ranked as the 85th best hospital in America and the fifth best hospital in Pennsylvania. This is the second consecutive designation from the organization, making CCH the highest-ranked community-based hospital in Pennsylvania two years running.

Newsweek partnered with Statista Inc., a global data research firm, to grade hospitals worldwide on three main data sources - hospital recommendations from peers, patient experience and medical key performance indicators (KPIs). Peer recommendations were sourced via an international online survey that polled more than 74,000 health care professionals. Patients worldwide filled out surveys measuring their satisfaction with the hospitals in which they received care. The KPIs measured included patient safety, hygiene measures and quality of treatment.

"It brings me great pride to work within a hospital that houses the "World's Best" healthcare providers. We are committed to one mission, and that is to be the leading provider of care in the region, and a national model for quality, service excellence and fiscal stewardship. This honor reinforces that goal, and is a direct reflection of the quality patient-centered care our front-line team provides to the community it serves," says Michael Duncan, president and CEO of Chester County Hospital.

In addition to Chester County Hospital, other Penn Medicine hospitals also netted honors: The Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania - Penn Presbyterian was ranked #1 in the State and #16 in America and performed "above average" in infection prevention measures; Lancaster General Health was ranked #9 in the state and #149 in America and performed "above average" in infection prevention measures.
