September 28, 2021

CHARLOTTE, NC - Balfour Beatty receives two merit awards from Engineering News-Record Southeast (ENR) for the Parker Poe interior buildout project in Charlotte, NC, and the Osprey project in Atlanta, GA.

ENR received 95 total entries and 35 were selected for awards by a panel of eight industry professionals. The Osprey project won under the "Residential/Hospitality" category and Parker Poe was awarded in the "Small Project (Under $10 Million)" category.

"We are honored to be selected for two Awards of Merit from ENR Southeast," said Scott Skidelsky, Balfour Beatty president in the Southeast. "This is the second award for both projects, with Parker Poe winning the Associated Builders and Contractors Carolinas Excellence in Construction Eagle Award, and the Osprey project winning first place in the Associated General Contractors Build Georgia Awards. This recognition is a true testament to our teammates' commitment to overachieving client expectations and their hard work and synergy to deliver award-winning projects in our communities."

The 325,000-square-foot Osprey project features a 13-story Prescient tower, two five-story buildings and a seven-story, 540-car parking garage. Osprey includes 30,000 square feet of interior service and retail space, in addition to amenities including an exterior pool, fitness-on-demand studio, a sky lounge with a community bar, co-working space and a dog park.

Parker Poe's interior buildout project features an 83,000 square-foot, three-floor upfit for the law firm's newly relocated headquarters in the Legacy Union Building of Uptown, Charlotte. Designed by Gensler, the corporate headquarters offers space for more than 280 employees, meeting rooms, a fully equipped café, and employee coffee areas on each floor. Delivered in six months, the first-generation office space provides Parker Poe employees and their clients a serene and private space to conduct business without interruption.
