The Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) advises drivers in Taylorsville to plan ahead for two weekend lane closures of 4700 South at Bangerter Highway in February.

Starting Friday, Feb. 16 at 10 p.m., all east-west traffic on 4700 South at the intersection of Bangerter Highway will be detoured while crews install bridge supports. The road will open back up again Monday, Feb. 19, at 5 a.m.

The following weekend, 4700 South will close again starting Friday, Feb. 23 at 10 p.m., and open in time for the morning commute on Monday, Feb. 26.

Drivers should expect delays in the area during this work and can use either 4100 South or 5400 South as alternate routes (see maps below for details).

UDOT is building a new interchange at 4700 South, a key part of UDOT's efforts to eliminate stoplights on Bangerter Highway with freeway-style interchanges with on- and off-ramps. Construction of this interchange is scheduled for completion in late 2025.

A full 12-month east-west closure at 4700 South and Bangerter Highway is scheduled to begin in June 2024 to allow crews to build the new interchange safely and efficiently.
