PR No.142 INDUSTRIES, PRODUCTION MINISTER FOR LOCALISATION OF MOBILE PHONE PARTS TO

Federal Minister for Industries and Production, Syed Murtaza Mehmood has stressed for localization of parts of mobile phone, cheap labour productivity and export targetted components to earn foreign exchange for the country. The minister expressed these views while addressing mobile device manufacturing summit held in a local hotel today. He said we have immense potential, which needs to maximise for the development of the country. He said we are all responsible for the situation being faced today. Long term policies can help to come out it. The minister urged the mobile device manufacturing sector to benefit from this summit by enhancing competitiveness of the mobile phone devices and the allied equipment like laptops and tablets, targeting export of mobile phones. The attached department of the ministry of industries and production, engineering development board organized the summit in collaboration with Pakistan mobile phone manufacturers association. All stakeholders including mobile device manufacturers, government officials from relevant ministries and academia contributed their input to boost local assembly of the mobile devices through enhancing investment and employment opportunities in this sector. About 31 mobile devices manufacturing companies displayed their technology and products including Xiaomi, Realmi, Infinix, Tecno, Itel, Alcatel, G-Five, Oppo, Vivo, Premier Code etc.
