New Utility Rates Begin on All Statements After April 1

Wastewater, reclaimed water, and environmental compliance fees are increasing for all utility customers in Gilbert.

The new rates go into effect on all utility statements issued after April 1, 2023.

Residents will see an increase of $8.02 for wastewater and $2.51 for environmental compliance (stormwater and air quality) services on their bills.

The impact to non-residential customers will vary. Gilbert customers can use the online utility bill calculator at gilbertaz.gov/BillCalculator to see how the rates increase will affect their monthly bill.

More information on the new rates increase can be found at gilbertaz.gov/UtilityRates.

With the rate increase, Gilbert will have the third-lowest average utility residential bill compared to surrounding cities.

The Town of Gilbert routinely evaluates the fiscal health of the community's water, wastewater, reclaimed water, environmental services, and environmental compliance utilities to plan for the future. A recent study determined that rate increases are needed for the wastewater, reclaimed water and environmental compliance fees to maintain the utility operations and ensure continued quality services. The water and environmental services rates will remain the same.
