Residents invited to apply for the summer 2023 Reno Constituents Institute

Residents of Reno, Sparks, and/or Washoe County are invited to apply now for the 2023 summer session of the Reno Constituents Institute(RCI) program provided by the City of Reno. The registration deadline is July 14, 2023.

From September to November, RCI participants will meet with elected officials and City of Reno staff to gain an understanding of the City's structure, processes and services through hands-on exercises, presentations, and tours.

"This program opens the door, pulls back the curtain, and gives participants the chance to see how Reno runs first-hand," said Doug Thornley, Reno City Manager. "Upon completion of the program, they can help make Reno even more lovable by using their knowledge to inform their neighbors, run for office, serve on an advisory board, or join our City of Reno team."

The free 10-week RCI program will be hosted on Thursday evenings from 6 to 8 p.m. at various City facilities and venues. Classes begin on September 7, 2023 and run through November 9, 2023. Space is limited to 40 participants. Apply today!

RCI offers an opportunity for participants to gain valuable insight into City operations so they can become ambassadors for positive change in their neighborhood and the community. It also offers a learning opportunity for those who want to serve on one of the City's many advisory boards, or are interested in running for office.

Members of the media are also welcome to participate in RCI. Applications for the 2023 session and more information about the program are available at Reno.gov/RCI.
